Grandma Ruth was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met. Never empty handed when she was your guest. A small treat wrapped with a big bow brought a smile as she entered your home. As a child during the holidays, we would gather in the car with the trunk full of wrapped treats to deliver to family and friends. She never stopped thinking of others until her passing at age of 100!

As my grandpa sits at a retirement home at 101 years old, my heart broke as distance kept me from visiting. I thought to myself, what can I do to let my Grandpa know that I was thinking of him? He always says “don‘t buy me anything, except what I can eat.“ I thought of my blessed Grandma and sent little boxes full of treats. There were times that I thought of him and wanted to send another box, but life would get busy, and time goes so fast that it would be months before I would send another box. I began thinking of how many others are just like me. We want to let our loved ones know we love them and are thinking about them and that‘s how Ruthie‘s sunshine box started. Once a month, your loved one will receive a sunshine box with a little treat letting them know you haven‘t forgotten them. A small gift brings a huge smile.
